Tinubu Orders Security Review In Katsina, Promises Advanced Military Support - Politics - Nigeria

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered an immediate review of security operations in Katsina State following renewed bandit attacks on local communities.

The President said the Federal Government is determined to end the wave of violence by deploying advanced military hardware, surveillance technology, and improved intelligence operations across the state.

"We will reinforce our forces with the right equipment, supported by modern surveillance gadgets. Katsina, like every part of Nigeria, deserves peace and stability," Tinubu said.

Consideration for State Police and Forest Guards

President Tinubu also revealed that his administration is considering the establishment of state police as part of long-term security reforms. In addition, the government will expand support for the recently deployed forest guards, who are tasked with monitoring and protecting rural areas vulnerable to banditry.

He stressed the importance of community-based security outfits that understand the terrain, language, and culture of the people, especially in states with unique security challenges like Katsina.

Meeting with Katsina Leaders

The President gave the assurances while hosting a delegation of eminent Katsina citizens, led by Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, at the State House, Abuja. The meeting focused on reviewing the recent security breaches and identifying practical solutions to restore calm in affected communities.

Tinubu expressed confidence that, with the right strategy, the state's security challenges are surmountable.

The Bureau News will continue monitoring developments in Katsina as the Federal Government intensifies efforts to safeguard lives and property as part of its coverage of Nigeria News Today.
