CM Punk's latest Royal Rumble promo on Raw last night (Jan. 19) convinced my guy Geno that Punk has a real shot at winning the men's version of WWE's most famous match next Saturday in Indianapolis.
His interview included, among other things, telling Jackie Redmond why he should be favored over some of the favorites like Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. Punk also threw a little shade at Sami Zayn (who seemed to be catching strays, and just generally in the middle of everything, last night) before taking aim at WWE Hall of Famer and self-avowed racist Hulk Hogan.
"You put Hulk Hogan in the Royal Rumble, I'll throw his dusty ass over the top rope and I'll kill Hulkamania once and for all!"
The line got huge cheers from the crowd in Dallas, and remains in all versions of the segment WWE has online... in case you're wondering where Hogan stands a couple weeks after being booed out of the building in Los Angeles two weeks ago.
In fact, Punk isn't even the only WWE Superstar willing to go on record with his plan to end the scourge of Hulkamania. And no offense to the Punker, but we'd rather see Big Bronson Reed Tsunami Hogan's "dusty ass"... as many times as he wants to.
