Pete Davidson Reveals Which Body Part He's Removing His Tattoos from Now as He Continues Major Transformation

Davidson has been in the process of removing his collection of ink since 2020

Pete Davidson is updating fans on the latest in his tattoo-removal journey.

In a Feb. 26 interview with Page Six at the screening of Riff Raff in N.Y.C., the former Saturday Night Live star revealed which body part of his is currently getting zapped in his efforts to go ink-free.

The comedian, 31, revealed that he's currently "working on the torso" as he continues gradually removing his body ink, which he began doing in 2020.

While he said he's still going strong with the dramatic transformation -- which a source told PEOPLE in January has cost $200,000 -- he admitted it has not gone without some pain. "It's terrible," he told the outlet. "They burn off your skin and then you've got to do it 10 more times. I think if you can invest in any business, I think you should invest in the tattoo-removal business," he joked.

Davidson added that, for the more painful parts of the process, "they just put me to sleep, which is kind of nice but if it's just the arm, I try to listen to stuff or talk to the nurse."

According to the Mayo Clinic, anesthesia can be used on a patient undergoing different forms of tattoo-removal procedures, including laser, surgical and dermabrasion, which is when the "tattooed skin is sanded down to deeper levels with a high-speed rotary device that has an abrasive wheel or brush," therefore allowing the tattoo ink to "leach out of the skin."

In recent months, Davidson has been more open about starting a clean-slate with his skin (although he does plan on keeping "two or three").

"I got sober and I saw myself in the mirror and I was like, 'Nah. Who that?' I was like, 'I got to change it up a little bit,'" he said during a Jan. 31 appearance on the Today show, during which he also advised viewers to "make sure" they really want a tattoo before they get one.

Over the years, Davidson has accumulated up to 200 tattoos, some of which included depictions of "cartoons smoking blunts," which he called his most regrettable ones.

Davidson put his new look on display for a Valentine's Day ad for Reformation, in which he played "official boyfriend." In the photos, he can be seen without tattoos on his chest, arms and legs, with him even posing topless with his ink-free muscles on display.
