York County authorities name Charlotte resident as man shot, killed near Carowinds

YORK COUNTY -- The York County Coroner named a Charlotte man as the person who was shot and killed Feb. 24 behind a gas station near Carowinds Theme Park.

Paramedics took Linster Rasberry, 48, to a hospital after the 5:30 a.m. shooting behind a Circle K on Foothills Way off of Carowinds Boulevard. He was pronounced dead after his arrival, the York County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies said an argument took place outside between Rasberry and Duan Ralphielle Partlow, 46, of Sharon. The Sheriff's Office said Partlow shot Rasberry and fled the scene.

About four hours after the shooting, deputies found Partlow on Old York Road in York during a traffic stop. He was charged with murder, two counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and domestic violence of a high and aggressive nature.

Partlow remained at the York County Detention Center as of Feb. 26 with no bond.
