Saints coaching candidate Kellen Moore responds to 'great' praise from Drew Brees

Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore could be the next New Orleans Saints coach, and he received praise from legendary Saints quarterback Drew Brees.

Moore is currently preparing for Super Bowl LIX but is one of the top coaching candidates for the vacant Saints head coaching job. He was described by Brees last week as 'one of the great young offensive minds in the game.'

Moore was in the Crescent City for Super Bowl Opening Night on Monday at the Caesars Superdome and was asked about Brees' thoughts. Moore's initial response was "obviously, Drew (Brees) is one of the epitomes of what means to play offensive football in this league."

Moore went on to say that "being on the other side of the field, playing against New Orleans when Drew was here, you certainly felt how challenging this place was when he was here and rolling."

Moore "didn't know" when asked what his favorite Louisiana dish was "excited for the opportunity" to be in New Orleans for the Super Bowl.

Sources have indicated that Moore is the leading candidate for the Saints job, and Saints general manager Mickey Loomis wants to meet with him for a third time after the Super Bowl.

Other Saints coaching candidates include New York Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka and Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver.
