'Be my friend'... Alex Pereira and Kamaru Usman share wholesome moment ahead of UFC 313

Alex Pereira and Kamaru Usman engaged in a heartwarming exchange when they met up at the UFC Performance Institute.

On Saturday evening, 'Poatan' will return to the octagon, to go head-to-head, with Magomed Ankalaev, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

The fight is one of the biggest of the Brazilian's career. Not only will it give the champion an opportunity to prove to the doubters that he can deal with wrestlers, but it will also provide Pereira with the chance to break a Jon Jones record.

And it appears the former Glory King is entering this one in a happy mindset, as he's just had a wonderful exchange with the former UFC welterweight title holder.

Kamaru Usman and Israel Adesanya share an incredibly tight bond, with both men representing Nigeria on the world stage.

Together, they pioneered African MMA, becoming heroes to up-and-coming fighters across not just their country, but the continent as a whole.

At one point in time, 'The Last Stylebender' shared an incredibly intense rivalry with Alex Pereira, with the pair going toe-to-toe twice in kickboxing, before delivering two super fights inside the cage.

Now, the strikers have put their past behind them, forging a bond of their own.

With that in mind, when the light heavyweight King bumped into Usman ahead of UFC 313, he wanted to make amends with the wrestler.

In a video uploaded to his YouTube channel, Pereira said: "Now that I'm Israel Adesanya's friend, you have to be friends with me."

However, as it turns out, 'The Nigerian Nightmare' never had an issue with Pereira in the first place, claiming: "Yes, of course, never not friends. When you're warriors, never not friends, we share the same spirit."

With Pereira's next title defense just days away, the Sao Paulo native is happy that his training camp has come to a close.

Over the last few months, the 37-year-old has put in copious amounts of work to prepare himself for the task at hand.

During this time, he's exchanged blows with a plethora of tremendous competitors in order to make sure he can deal with what Ankalaev is bringing to the table.

However, it's not only trained killers he's gone toe-to-toe with, as Pereira has even sparred Action Bronson.
