Leicester City have announced professional contracts for 11 young talents with the club hoping more gems emerge from their academy.

City have had huge success with homegrown players of late, with Jeremy Monga and Louis Page's promotion to the first team giving matchday squads a very local feel.

For the Carabao Cup against Huddersfield, nine members of the 20-man squad had come up through City's academy. For the win over Charlton, it was eight players.

Now, the next batch of promising youngsters have been handed professional deals. Among the 11 to be rewarded are midfielder Will Lawrence and striker Lorenz Hutchinson, who both started alongside Monga and Page in the Under-16 Premier League Cup triumph last year.

Hutchinson is worth keeping tabs on this season. He's started in excellent form for the Under-18s, with two goals and two assists in the first three matches of the campaign.

Northern Ireland Under-21 midfielder Ryan Donnelly also gets his first professional deal. He had a rough time with injuries when he first joined the club from Dungannon in his home nation a couple of years ago, but he's now back in the team and scored his first City Under-21s in a 2-0 win over Derby last week.

Attacking midfielders Alfie Fisken and Kirsten Otchere, centre-backs Kevon Gray and Reiss Khela, winger Laolu Omobolaji, and goalkeeper Jake Donohue have all played in Premier League 2 this season and have been given their first pro deals.

Completing the list are the Under-18s midfielder Bless Akolbire and forward Bartosz Kosiorek.

Beyond that, City have also announced that right-back Brandon Cover, who made his senior debut under Enzo Maresca two seasons ago, has signed a new deal with the club.

The 21-year-old Jamaica international spent time on loan in League Two with Port Vale and Fleetwood last season.

City have also confirmed the signing of 17-year-old winger Riley Carr from non-league Hertford Town. Carr was on trial last season and Hertford confirmed the deal over the summer. He's started well for City's Under-18s, with a goal and an assist in the first three matches.
