Events and happenings this weekend in the area

LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) - It's shaping up to be a weekend full of fun in Southwest Oklahoma, so if you're looking for something to do, you don't have to look any further.

Aggies can join in on a fun glow party tonight at 8 p.m. as part of Cameron University's Homecoming Week activities.

Keep in mind that glow parties typically have a dress code, and no, you don't have to dress to the nines.

It wouldn't be a glow party without the glow, so bring your best neon and glow in the dark clothing.

The event ends at 10 p.m., and with how cold it's been this week, be sure to bundle up when you're coming and going.

Continuing with Homecoming happenings, two exciting basketball games at home, and the crowning of Cameron's new monarchs will be tomorrow.

The Aggies women's' and men's' teams will be going up against the Sul Ross State Lobos.

The women's game starts at 1 p.m., and the men's game starts at 3 p.m. in the Aggie Gym.

In addition to that, you can see the new Homecoming monarchs crowned during during the men's game's halftime.

The Galilee Missionary Baptist Church will be celebrating Black History Month with a free community dinner.

That starts at noon tomorrow at the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, and will end once all of the food is gone.

It's a drive-thru soul food dinner, and some of the items on the menu include fried chicken, barbecue ribs, gumbo, red beans and rice, greens, and more.

Everyone is invited to come down and grab some food, so don't hesitate to get a nice meal in.

Also tomorrow, you can join Fishy's Friends Rescue to possibly meet your new best friend at PetCo!

The rescue is holding an adoption event at 1 p.m. for people looking for or considering a new member for the family.

You can meet some of the adorable adoptable dogs there and even take them home.

If you're not sure if you're ready to own a pet, you can attend to ask questions, learn about fostering, or to just get some cuddles in.

The event ends at 4 that afternoon.

A local boxing gym and former professional boxer Grady Brewer of Bad Boys Boxing is hosting "Gloves up, Guns Down" tomorrow to raise money for kids who may not be able to afford gym memberships.

That will be at Grady Brewer's Bad Boys Boxing and Fitness with doors opening at 5 tomorrow evening and the First Bout starting at 6 p.m the same evening.

General admission is $20, while kids 10 and under get in for $10.
