With the holidays on the way, a local family honored an annual tradition: lighting up their front yard with brilliant purple Christmas lights.
Chris and Lisa Kostik lost their 7-year-old daughter, Emily, to brain cancer in January 2014. Two things Emily really loved were the color purple and Christmastime. So the following Christmas the family began what would become a yearly ritual. This year, over 40 people gathered on Nov. 25 to light the trees, sing songs and remember Emily.
