A strong earthquake from 6.2 Southeast Afghanistan struck Thursday (September 4), according to the German Earth Science Research Center (GFZ). The tremor was recorded, at a shallow depth of 10 km (6.2 miles), on a latitude of 34.57 degrees north and a width of 70.75 degrees east.
The last earthquake comes a few days after a series of destroyed earthquakes was killed by more than 2,200 people and left more than 3,600 people in eastern Afghanistan. The entire villages were flattened, and tens of thousands remain homeless with the continued rescue operations in the provinces damaged by the earthquake.
Jazzat in India
Strong tremors felt in parts of Delhi NCR, Jamo and Kashmir. The residents reported the shacking the buildings and rushed out in the open air as a preventive measure. There are no immediate reports on damage or victims from India.
Survivors are struggling amid a lack of aid
The Taliban Administration confirmed on Thursday that the death of destroyed earthquakes that struck Afghanistan earlier this week had risen to more than 2,200.
The first earthquake, a 6.0 shallow earthquake, hit late Sunday in the provinces of Konar and Nanjarhar, the entire level of villages built of clay bricks and wood. The Taliban reported at least 2,205 dead and 3,640 injuries, making it one of the bloodiest earthquakes in Afghanistan in recent years. The United Nations and relief groups warn that the humanitarian situation is getting worse. The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Communities (IFRC) said that up to 84,000 people were directly or indirectly affected, with urgent needs for food, shelter and medical supplies.
The survivors, many displaced and open in the open air in the final tremors, continue to search for the missing family members. The villagers were seen carrying bodies on woven, dug with choices, and they are waiting for relief convoys to reach the severed mountain societies.
Rescue and relief operations
Videos showed trucks loaded with flour and supplies that transport treacherous mountain roads, while Afghan authorities deployed commandos via Airdrops in indoor areas. Despite these efforts, relief agencies stressed that employment and supplies are still not cavities to meet the scale of the destruction.
