Egypt's Culture Minister Ahmed Fouad Hannu met on Tuesday with UNESCO's regional director in Cairo to discuss cooperation on museum development, artificial intelligence, and cultural projects in Africa, the ministry said in a statement.

Talks with Nuria Sanz, regional director of UNESCO's Egypt and Sudan Office, also covered plans for Egypt's upcoming Creativity and Artificial Intelligence Conference and support for the country's delegation to the World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development - MONDIACULT 2025 in Barcelona on 29 September 2025 - 1 October 2025.

Hannu said Egypt aims to strengthen partnerships with UNESCO to develop art museums, train staff and expand the role of the Egyptian Academy of Arts in Rome as a cultural hub. He also highlighted Cairo's commitment to safeguarding African heritage and promoting cultural exchange across the continent.

Sanz praised the ministry's efforts and said UNESCO would work to broaden areas of cooperation and launch new joint initiatives in the coming phase.
