Calipari, Hogs Will Host 5-Star Forward Against Mississippi State

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Arkansas Razorbacks coach John Calipari isn't quite done putting a bow on his 2025 recruiting class. The Hogs' are set to host 5-star stretch forward Nate Ament for an official visit in Saturday's home finale against No. 25 Mississippi State, first reported by On3's Jamie Shaw.

The 6-foot-9, 180 pound power forward is currently ranked No. 4 overall and No. 2 power forward in the 2025 class, according to 247sports. Calipari has made Ament one of his top priorities since taking the Arkansas job last April, making several visits to Highland High School in Virginia for in-home and school visits.

Ament holds 29 offers including a top-five list of the Razorbacks, Duke, Kentucky, Tennessee and Louisville. His recruitment has been one of the more quieter ones throughout the process of this class as no one school appears to have pulled away yet.

Arkansas is the only school he has yet to visit which means this staff needs to roll out the red carpet and make one final impression before he signs in April. The Razorbacks have signed three top-five classes this decade with 2020 ranked No. 4, 2022 finished No. 2 behind Duke and Calipari's inaugural signing class was No. 3.

The Razorbacks' three man class of Meleek Thomas (No. 10), Darius Acuff (No. 12) and Isaiah Sealy (No. 75) is No. 4 nationally by 247sports composite ranking system. If Calipari can find a way to sign Ament, it would leapfrog his program past Duke, Houston and UConn for sole possession of the No. 1 recruiting class.
