Jennie Kim's ability to take any classic style and turn it on its head should be studied. In fact, she delivered her latest fashion lesson -- this time concerning the art of the LBD -- with an outfit photo dump that she shared to Instagram today.
The Blackpink member remixed the little black dress, and she did so without technically wearing a dress at all. Instead, she wore two pieces from Alaïa. The top half of her look consisted of a slinky sheer blouse with a swath of fabric asymmetrically draped across the chest. The blouse had a high turtleneck and cinched details along the waist and at the cuffs of the bishop sleeves. It provided an elegant contrast to the bottom half of her look: a wide leather belt with looped leather fringes, which Jennie casually styled as an itty bitty miniskirt. To complete the outfit, she added a pair of sheer black tights, black Jimmy Choo slingback pumps, and a bulbous Chanel ring.

Jennie's self-prescribed "classic" sense of style is inspired by her mom, she previously revealed in an interview for Harper's Bazaar's October 2024 cover story.
"She was Carrie from Sex and the City for me," the singer said. To this day, Jennie still relies on her mom for fashion emergency crises. She explained, "When I'm at the airport ... I call my mom. 'Mom, I need a knee-length black coat. If it's Burberry, I'll like it, but if not, that's cool.' She'll bring me a perfect [outfit] from when she wore it like 30 years ago."
