8 from area to participate in PSFCA small-school all-star football game May 18

Seven players and one coach from the area will participate in the annual Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches Association small-school all-star game.

The game for players in Class 1A-3A is set for noon May 18 at Cumberland Valley High School's Chapman Field in Mechanicsburg, site of the PIAA championship games.

Bedford inside linebacker Jacob Wilson; Cambria Heights cornerback Trey Trybus; Penn Cambria offensive lineman Preston Farabaugh, wide receiver Gavin Harrold, inside linebacker Derek Hite; and Richland kicker Noah Ritko; and United punter Dylan Stephens are members of the West team. Windber's Matt Grohal is an assistant on the coaching staff.

Wilson made 157 tackles, including 108 solo, in 2024. He forced two fumbles for the 2024 District 5 Class 2A champions.

Trybus totaled 64 tackles, seven passes defensed and two fumble recoveries in 2024. He picked off four passes and compiled 62 tackles in 2023. Trybus amassed 1,835 all-purpose yards, including 696 receiving and 656 rushing. He helped the Highlanders claim 2023 and 2024 District 6 titles, and the 2021 and 2024 Heritage Conference crowns.

Farabaugh paved the way as the Panthers totaled 3,523 rushing and 1,723 passing yards for the 2024 District 6 Class 3A champions and PIAA semifinalists.

Harrold, who will play at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, accounted for 35 touchdowns and 233 points in 2024. He caught 75 passes for 1,003 yards and 10 touchdowns. He rushed for 859 yards and 24 touchdowns. Harrold had 2,314 all-purpose yards, including 284 kickoff return and 110 punt return yards. He finished with 2,351 receiving, 1,325 rushing, 3,843 total and 4,782 all-purpose yards over four seasons. Harrold tallied 59 career touchdowns and 24 two-point conversions for 379 points. He made 262 career tackles and picked off 10 passes.

Hite, signed to play at Virginia Military Institute, posted 109 tackles in 2024, which included 10 for loss and 2 1/2 sacks. The 2023 Tribune-Democrat defensive player of the year compiled 102 tackles, 17 for loss, 11 sacks and one interception as a junior. He finished with 302 career tackles, including 35 for loss.

Ritko, signed to kick at New Hampshire, led the area with 72 kicking points in 2024. His touchbacks soared from three in 2023 to 34 in 2024. He also set a school record by making the longest field goal, a 50-yarder at Somerset. He was perfect on 54 extra-point kicks and 6 of 9 on field goal attempts in 2024. His punting average went from 27.0 in 2023 to 33.1 as a senior. Ritko was 10-for-15 on field goals in his career and totaled 217 points over four seasons. He was 187 of 196 on extra points.

Stephens punted nine times for an average of 46.3 yards per kick. He posted a long of 71 yards and four of his punts were downed inside the opponent's 20-yard line. Stephens totaled 198 tackles in 2024.

Grohal led Windber to the 2022 and 2024 District 5 Class 1A titles.
