WCPO adds former Fox 19 anchor as its new weekend morning anchor

Former Fox 19 (WXIX-TV) morning news co-anchor Lauren Minor is returning to the Queen City, but she's joining a new station, she revealed in an Instagram post Sept. 2.

Minor left the Cincinnati area last year after accepting a job with LEX 18 (WLEX-TV), an NBC affiliate in Lexington, Kentucky, as a weekday early evening news co-anchor. The Northern Kentucky native will now join Channel 9 (WCPO-TV) as a weekend morning anchor.

"I am so excited to be returning to Cincinnati as the weekend morning anchor at WCPO 9 News! I am happy to be coming back to a city I love so much, and I cannot wait to reconnect with viewers and continue telling the stories that matter most," Minor wrote on Instagram. "Being closer to home will also give me the flexibility to spend more time with my kids, which I'm really looking forward to."

Minor will take over as weekend morning anchor sometime in September, according to WCPO.

The Northern Kentucky University grad began her career in 2013 as an assignment editor and production assistant for Local 12 (WKRC-TV) before going to WTWO-TV in Terre Haute, Indiana, where she worked as a multimedia journalist.

Minor has also worked as an anchor and reporter at WKYT-TV in Lexington. She earned an Ohio Valley Emmy Award in 2022 for her breaking news reporting on tornadoes that killed more than 50 people in Western Kentucky.
